Ethical and Scientific Axioms and Their Applicability in Average and Exceptional Cases

Both examples aiming to prove that the two types of axioms are applicable were accomplished just by generalized observations, that is why a little test was decided to be done in order to check if any of two axiom types were really applicable in practice. When the previous tests were further examined, it became obvious that the morality test needed asking oneself if one would have wanted others to do the same to oneself. The answer is self-explanatory and personal. There are not much questions appear as for the perspective of being murdered, but opinions as for the fast and painless death differ. There were even cases happened where the current test is inapplicable, for example in a capital punishment. The Newton’s first law of motion test, in its turn, clearly reveals that as much as sensations can feel, the law holds true. To get more precise data, the test can be made again, but this time adding the small friction, and using special devises that will give us more precise measurements than our senses can.

Speaking about the exceptions, scientific and ethical axioms are taken completely differently. The primary instance of an ethical axiom, the one telling that it is bad to kill, still stands. But killing would be quite acceptable if one was attacked. And it might be acceptable to relief somebody’s sufferings by putting him out of misery – so called euthanasia notion. It might be also acceptable under a majority of other circumstances, but the general idea that it wrong to take somebody’s life strictly contravenes the law stated before. This discrimination is the result of dissimilarities in the essence of the two axioms. Both political and ethical laws tell us how we must behave, so the only choice we can do is to follow this law or not. But on the other hand, scientific laws do not prescribe how nature should behave, but describes how nature should not behave. Every time a new exclusion to an ethical axiom is introduced, it is either accepted, mostly with controversy, or strictly rejected because it is not “ the way it should be” When an instant opposing to the foreseeing made in a scientific law is, generally it is further investigated with the aim to improve the law, and that particular instance is rejected until a better law is introduced.
